Grandparent Custody and Visitation

Grandparent custody and visitation is a complex area of family law, and is interpreted in a restrictive fashion in New York. The burdens for both reliefs are relatively difficult in New York (with custody being far more difficult), however, New York Courts routinely can and do grant both reliefs to Grandparents under the right circumstances. These types of actions can also be brought in Supreme Court.
