Danielle R. Petitti graduated from the College of Charleston in May 2002 and from New York Law School in May 2005. Ms. Petitti started her legal career at the Patricia Ann Fersch Family Law Center, the precursor of Fersch Petitti LLC, as a summer intern and continued after graduation as an associate. In December 2010, Ms. Petitti was named partner and Fersch Petitti LLC was formed in January 2011.

Ms. Petitti practices in the Family, Supreme and Integrated Domestic Violence (IDV) Courts of all five boroughs in New York City as well as Westchester, Suffolk and Nassau counties. Ms. Petitti is an aggressive yet professional advocate who has successfully handled hundreds of Family Court and Matrimonial cases. Ms. Petitti has litigated and negotiated a wide variety of Family Law issues, including cases involving annulments, exclusive occupancy of the marital residence, equitable distribution of marital property and spousal maintenance, paternity, child support (including imputation of income and discovery of undisclosed assets and income), child custody and visitation (including grandparent custody/visitation and relocation) and family offense/order of protection matters.

Ms. Petitti has also successfully handled various matters in both the Appellate Division First and Second Departments and also taught on the topic of Matrimonial Law. Ms. Petitti has served as a student mentor in the area of Matrimonial Law at New York Law School since 2011.

Ms. Petitti was admitted to practice in New York on January 9, 2006. She is an active member of the New York Women’s Bar Association, including the Association’s Matrimonial Law Committee, and of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

In 2014, 2015 and 2016, Ms. Petitti was selected to the New York Super Lawyers list. Each year, no more than five percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Ms. Petitti was also selected for inclusion on the Super Lawyers New York Metro “Rising Stars” list in 2013. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.

In 2014 and 2015, Ms. Petitti was selected for inclusion on The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 list.

In 2013, 2014 and 2015, Ms. Petitti was also named to the American Society of Legal Advocate’s list of the Top 40 Family Lawyers Under 40 in New York State, in addition to accepting a membership invitation to the society. The American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA) accepts less than 2 percent of all licensed lawyers in the nation as members and membership is by invitation only.
